Meet Tahoma Birth
More than your doulas - we're you're partners in birth.
Birth is one of life's most transformative experiences. Whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth, or navigating unexpected turns, you deserve compassionate support, evidence-based guidance, and a team that truly sees you.
With more than 15 years of combines experience and 400+ families supported, we're here to help you feel informed, confident, and cared for through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
Because every family deserves to feel supported - not just during birth, but throughout the journey into parenthood.
Meet Cherish
I'm a parent of three, an auntie to many, a plant lover, and proud to live in the shadow of our beautiful Tahoma. I had each of my babies here - in three very different ways- which taught me there isn't one "right" way to give birth. My passion is helping families discover the path that is right for them.
As a birth doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator, postpartum doula, and birth photographer, I provide evidence-based support, advocacy, and compassionate care through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum transition, I have a special passion for preparing families for life after birth and helping them feel confident as they enter this new chapter.
Whether I'm answering questions, holding space during labor, or helping you navigate the early days of parenthood, my goal is to help you feel informed, empowered and deeply supported.

Meet Jenn
I'm a PNW girl through and through. Born and raised in Tacoma, I am now raising my own family here. I believe every family deserves compassionate, personalized support that honors their unique birth story.
I love building genuine relationships with the families I serve - often over coffee or nachos - because no two birthing people are the same. Taking the time to truly know you allows me to support you in a wat that feels personal, not one-size-fits-all.
As a DONA - trained birth doula I provide evidence - based information, hands on support, advocacy and encouragement throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Whether I'm offering a steady hand during labor, or preserving your story through photography, my goal is simple; to help you feel confident cared for, and never alone.
Meet Sheilena
If I have been to a city, I probably know where a coffee shop is. I love the PNW gray skies and colder days; taking walks, dancing in the rain, and welcoming babies on stormy nights are some of my favorite things!
I love supporting families through this transitional period, and I'm in it for the long haul. Have a worry at 3am and 15weeks pregnant... reach out, need a referral or advice when your baby is 10months old... lets grab coffee and chat about it. My team and I become a part of your village and we don't leave.
Our system is broken, and it is one of the reasons I am so passionate about this work. People deserve and have the right to an autonomous and supported pregnancy and birth. I work hard to make sure that my clients are educated and prepared for their births, while also being there in the moment to provide advocacy and support when needed.

Evidence-Based Guidance
Giving you the tools to make informed decisions.
Continuous Support
From the first contraction until you are settled with your newborn.
Inclusive Support
Proudly serving all family structures and birth paths.
Holistic Wellness
Focusing on both your physical comfort and emotional well-being.
Support from us looks like education, resource sharing, and advocacy. It feels like a calm presence providing physical comfort, support with position changes and movement when you are laboring. It sounds like encouragement and confidence to get through each contraction, and your own voice being amplified so that your preferences and needs are heard. We do all of this and capture beautiful images so you can see and remember how amazing you are!
What truly sets Jenn apart is the kind of person she is. She doesn’t disappear after delivery. She checked in on me after both of my births, not just in a routine way, but in a genuinely caring, thoughtful way. Somewhere along the way, she stopped feeling like “just” my doula and became someone I deeply adore and consider a dear friend. That kind of connection is rare, and it speaks volumes about who she is.
Madeline
I am so grateful, lucky, and blessed to have had Sheilena by my side during one of the most intense and transformative seasons of my life. I had a very difficult pregnancy and postpartum journey, and she was my greatest advocate and source of strength throughout it all.
Monica
I can't say enough great things about Cherish. This woman knows her craft!! As a single mom by choice I knew my doula would be a super important component of my birth team, and Cherish was supportive and helpful through the entire process of having my first baby. Her techniques and guideance were crucial to me navigating my first labor.
Naysa
I cannot recommend Jenn highly enough! She was an incredible support throughout my entire birth experience. From the very beginning of my pregnancy, Jenn provided us with valuable educational information that helped us feel prepared and empowered.
Katie
Cherish is amazing! She helped us with the birth of both of our kids. Very different birth experiences and we can't imagine going through either without her. Cherish was a supportive advocate and a calming presence throughout it all, and she helped give us confidence as new parents. 11/10, Cherish is the best!
Lexi
I loved working with Jenn as my doula! I would hire her again in an instant. She is genuinely so kind and empathetic while also being very grounded. I felt comfortable with her from the beginning, like talking to an old friend.

Questions & Clarity About Your Journey
Navigating birth and parenthood comes with many questions. Here are the most common things families ask as they prepare for their new beginning.
Most families choose to connect during the second trimester, typically around the 20th week. This ensures we have ample time to build a meaningful relationship and allows us to reserve dedicated space in our calendar for your due date.
We are here to honor your choices, whether you envision a serene home birth or feel more secure in a hospital or birth center. Our role is to provide unwavering support in any environment, ensuring your voice is heard and respected.
Our goal is to strengthen your bond, not replace it. We provide your partner with practical tools and emotional reassurance, allowing them to support you with confidence while knowing they also have someone to lean on.
The "fourth trimester" is a time for deep healing and bonding. We provide a gentle bridge between hospital and home, offering newborn guidance and emotional care so you can focus entirely on recovering and getting to know your baby.
While our packages are designed to provide a comprehensive foundation, we understand that every family is unique. We can tailor the frequency of our prenatal and postpartum visits to perfectly align with your specific needs and rhythm.
Yes! We currently accept Carrot benefits, HSA/FSA payments, and Tricare. We are also in the process of becoming Medicaid providers.
If your insurance plan offers reimbursement for doula services, we're happy to provide detailed invoices to help support your claim.
We believe everyone deserves access to quality doula support. We offer a 10% military discount and may be able to offer sliding-scale options when a financial need exists. If cost is a concern, please reach out - we're always happy to help you find the support you need.
